In-vivo voltammetry systems

One of the greatest challenges for biomedical research is the measurement of rapid processes and short-lived molecules. Voltammetry, with its rapid response and small implantable electrode, is ideally suited to the task. ESA offers high-performance voltammetry products under our well-known Cypress Systems brand name. Our new TH-1 bioanalytical software coupled with the EI-400 biopotentiostat now makes Fast Scan Cyclic Voltammetry (FSCV) a practical reality. FSCV is a rapid way to measure neurotransmitters such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin with temporal and special resolution that approaches that of synaptic neurotransmission.

Amperometric detection using the BioStat system with specific electrodes provides rapid measurement of short-lived molecules such as Nitric Oxide. It is ideal for use with biosensors such as glutamate electrodes.
