Electrodes for general electrochemistry

To help you get the most from your electrochemistry systems, we provide an extensive line of working, reference, auxiliary (counter), pH, and special-purpose electrodes in a variety of configurations and materials to fit any experimental need. All electrodes are designed and built to give the highest degree of flexibility and reliability and each is performance tested prior to shipment.

Reference electrodes include our exclusive “no leak” Ag/AgCI model, hailed for its superior chemical resistance and leakage prevention. We tested it for up to 48 hours against organic solvents (alcohols, ketones, and esters) and DMSO, MEK, and dichloromethane without any deleterious effect. Other reference electrodes include the popular miniature Teflon® Ag/AgCI reference electrode, designed to work seamlessly with our mini cell and electrodes, and AE series reference electrodes, which have tapered joints to fit the five-neck companion cell.

Working electrodes:

EE series electrodes are available in gold, platinum and glassy carbon and sealed in either glass (for aqueous) or PEEK (for non-aqueous environments). PEEK is recommended for use with organic solvents.

AE series electrodes are available in gold, platinum and glassy carbon and are encased in glass. These electrodes are available in standard fixed (11.5 cm) or adjustable (11.5 cm ±14 mm) length.

pH electrodes are encased in glass and polymer. They have small diameter stems that are particularly useful for electrochemical reaction cell applications.

Micro-pH combination electrodes feature ultra-thin insertion stems and miniature pH bulbs for measurement of the smallest samples – available in extra-long stem lengths as well.

Polymer bodied pH combination electrodes made with impact-resistant epoxy tubing, these electrodes are designed for applications where rough handling and breakage are major problems. They are particularly suited for use with portable pH meters in the field and to make spot-check measurements of production processes.

Ag/AgCL combination electrodes feature narrow insertion stems (available in several different lengths) that allow measurements of small samples inside of test tubes and narrow-neck vessels.
