Electrochemical Synthesis System

Thermo Scientific Dionex has developed a unique approach to on-line, high capacity, metabolite synthesis. Utilizing specially designed Electrochemical (EC) Synthesis cells (Models 5125 and 5150) with the market-leading Coulochem III EC system, researchers are provided with the power to generate microgram quantities of oxidative metabolites from parent compounds on-line and on-site. In addition, the EC Synthesis cell can be controlled to enhance the generation of specific oxidation products. By using an our Electrochemical Synthesis system, researchers can quickly and efficiently generate metabolites to accelerate their efforts without having to rely on external chemistry resources.

Easy Production of Standards Aids Metabolite Identification

The Thermo Scientific Dionex Electrochemical Synthesis system produces μg
quantities of reaction products from a parent compound.
Typical products are a result of electrochemically mediated:
  • N-oxidation
  • D-dealkylation of aliphatic amines
  • Sulfoxide formation
  • Sulfur dealkylation
  • Oxidative dehalogenation

This enables researchers to:

  • Quickly and easily produce large quantities of metabolites
  • Increase the speed and throughput of drug metabolism studies
