CoulArray Multi-Channel ECD Array system

The only practical multi-channel ECD system on the market, our CoulArray system allows you to measure multiple analytes simultaneously, including those that are chromatographically unresolved. The CoulArray delivers unmatched selectivity for the detection of trace components in complex matrices, even in the presence of co-eluting molecules.

The CoulArray system relies upon the electroactive nature of molecules: a molecule's ability to be oxidized or reduced. Click here to see a list of known electroactive compounds.

Features and benefits

  • Unparalleled selectivity – simultaneously analyzes multiple analytes or a single analyte in a very complex sample; simplifies sample preparation.
  • Excellent sensitivity with the widest dynamic range possible of any commercial ECD – measures analytes from the femtomole to micromole level with an autoranging capability that ensures the most information from a single injection.
  • Expanded chromatography compatibility – the only ECD that can be used with the most-aggressive gradient.
  • Customized system configuration – multiple system configurations available (upgradeable four, eight, 12, or 16 channel options) to best fit your application requirements.
  • Powerful data-analysis software – allows for analysis and identification of either single or multiple analytes and analyte patterns; a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant version is available.
  • Reliable, trouble-free operation – significantly reduces downtime; the CoulArray is easy to implement, easy to learn, easy to operate, and easy to maintain.

A CoulArray system is ideal for a broad spectrum of analytical problems. For example:

Pharmaceutical – From drug discovery to quality control, the inherent sensitivity and selectivity of the CoulArray enable measurement of vanishingly small quantities of pharmaceuticals and their metabolites, even in complex samples. Applications include discovery of novel drugs in natural products, assessment of drug stability, and determination of physiological activity.

Food and beverage – The CoulArray's ability to measure low levels of non-volatile flavonoids and phenolics can provide a competitive advantage by profiling the characteristic qualities of products, determining their integrity, and evaluating competitors' products.

Neuroscience – The measurement of neurotransmitters, simultaneous monoamines, and amino acids are just some of the examples of the neuroscience applications of the CoulArray.

Chemical & general purpose – Analysis in the environmental lab is enhanced by the ability to screen for a large number of compounds, such as pesticides and herbicides, where the allowable limits are below those readily measurable by other analytical techniques. In addition, the analysis of low levels of explosive compounds is becoming increasingly important in site characterization projects.

Oxidative metabolism – Our CoulArray systems are used in laboratories to determine everything from nutrition levels in foods to the study of free radicals in living organisms and their harmful effect on cells. The CoulArray system is an ideal analytical tool to study the often complicated multifaceted pathways involved in oxygen-protective mechanisms and damage that can result when those mechanisms fail.

Approved HPLC diagnostic assays – A number of important clinically relevant cancer markers are readily and accurately measured in serum, plasma, or urine by electrochemical detection using the specificity, selectivity, and sensitivity of the CoulArray system
